The City of Helsinki’s Urban Environment Division has selected YIT as its development phase partner for the Jätkäsaari swimming and sports center. The project begins with a development phase and will be implemented as a collaborative project management contract. The estimated total value of the construction contract for YIT, aiming for the implementation phase after the development phase, is approximately 87 million euros. The value of the contract will be specified during the development phase.
The development phase will commence in November 2025 and is estimated to last until August 2026. At the end of the development phase, a decision will be made on proceeding to the implementation phase, which will last approximately three years.
YIT is building a new building for the Kamppi Health and Wellbeing Centre for the City of Helsinki, and its construction work will be completed more than a year ahead of schedule. The building can be handed over to the City of Helsinki already at the end of September 2026, meaning the city will get access to the new premises potentially more than 400 days earlier than planned. A renovated access route to the metro station and Kamppi shopping centre will be opened through the new building.
The Health and Wellbeing Centre will open in spring 2027, once the city has prepared the premises to receive staff and customers.
Tripla Mall Ky has paid approximately 51 million euros as capital repayment and distributed profits to its silent partner YIT Housing Oy, enabled by refinancing.
YIT will use the received funds, as well as previously received capital repayments and distributed profits from Tripla Mall Ky, totaling approximately 57 million euros, for the partial repayment of YIT’s secured bank loan (approximately 50 million euros) and for the partial repayment and partial cancellation of YIT’s secured revolving credit facility (approximately 8 million euros).
The received capital repayment and distributed profits have no impact on YIT’s reported result.
