The technology company Wärtsilä will supply a fully integrated propulsion solution for a new advanced deck cargo vessel. Meriaura ordered the vessel as part of its fleet renewal program, and its design has been based on low energy consumption, operational flexibility, and minimized emissions. The order was booked into Wärtsilä’s order intake for the first quarter of 2026.
In addition to the engines, Wärtsilä’s delivery includes a fully electric propulsion system that improves propulsion efficiency, reduces fuel consumption, and supports operational reliability and sustainability. Furthermore, Wärtsilä’s three thrusters support the vessel’s dynamic positioning system and station-keeping accuracy during offshore construction and heavy lift operations.
