It seems this was also originally a collective self-development project.
In the current changed and prolonged housing market situation, it has been particularly difficult to advance the implementation (planning and construction) of the collective self-development plots in blocks 10654 and 10658 in the northern part of Verkkosaari, to arrange financing from banks or financial institutions, to get a sufficient number of people into the developer group, and thus to establish a housing company and begin construction.
For this reason, based on an application from Toivo Group Oyj and Weston Group Oy, the plot unit has negotiated the implementation of said plots and the sale of apartments using a new operating model, in which unregulated, privately financed owner-occupied apartments are implemented using the RS procedure while following the principles of a collective self-development project.
@Frans-Mikael_Rostedt Are you aware if there are many of these stalled collective projects in growing areas of Helsinki?
Edit: Based on the City of Helsinki’s plot decisions, an entire block in Verkkosaari (Pilkkitie/Verkkosaarenkatu) has been reserved for collective projects. One could assume that more similar changes from collective to RS projects are coming.
