I have a small position in SoSi and the idea is to sell it off in the relatively near future. My confidence has pretty much disappeared as they can’t get things moving.
But to the actual matter that concerns me. How long does a contractor change take and what kind of delays will there be? It’s unlikely they’ll continue with the same equipment; new ones will surely arrive and old ones will leave. In a mine of that size, there’s probably a bit more than one excavator and a couple of dump trucks. Plus everything else required for this contractor change.
I just think it will get quite crowded if machines from two different contractors are on site? And it’s not economically sensible for a contractor to bring in machines to wait until 2026.
It would be interesting to hear more about how a contractor change works in practice.
