Fouquet is in an interview on CNBC Pro Live Europe, if you manage to find it afterwards. He talks a bit more broadly about the current situation and outlook, for example, in China for this year.
Here below is a pretty good comparison table of ASML’s results. ![]()

LAM’s quarterly report also came out yesterday.
I jumped on board with this at a price of 669. There was already so much blood on the streets. Good earnings report, quality company.
Investing Visuals has gone in a more negative direction in its updated review, or well… now considers it less overvalued. ![]()

Typical slight beat. The market seems to initially accept it. Edit: Or maybe not.
AMD:
Data Center Revenue Miss 3.90B vs 4.15B est ![]()

Made money in the wrong place (client, not datacenter) and the market was expecting better. ![]()
Gross Margin 51% vs. Est. 54% missed estimates, if I’m seeing this right
Which is logical if the Client segment performed well and Datacenter not as much as expected. Datacenter products have better margins.
It could be that all datacenter money is indeed flowing into AI accelerators, and normal servers are selling so much less that it caused that dip. And AMD’s AI accelerators are still suffering from software stack issues, so sales don’t compensate for everything.
Here are some things I came across while reading, for example: AMD’s results exceeded expectations, and the company strengthens its position in the AI chip market with its MI300X accelerators, challenging Nvidia + it continues to grow its market share by taking consumer and enterprise processors from Intel. It was also noted that strong gross margin and steady revenue growth are specifically based on the demand for AI, gaming, and cloud services.
However, now and in the future, challenges include Nvidia’s strong leadership in the AI market and Intel’s aggressive improvements in its processor lineup, so the fight continues.
Also, of course, competition in high-end products requires massive investments in product development, and even then, it doesn’t necessarily bring the desired results when competitors are doing the same.

With a 30% yield, even small mobile phone chips are still wonderfully expensive to manufacture there. But it’s good that Samsung is making progress in that, a world where TSMC has a natural monopoly due to technology is not pleasant.
Intel up +10% two days in a row.
I can’t find any reason for this in the news.
Have I missed something essential?
Intel Stock Skyrockets 12% on U.S. AI Chip Expansion
JD Vance announced that the U.S. supports locally designed chips and AI devices manufactured on its own soil. AMD and NVIDIA fabs [or TSMC’s fabs] are likely in Taiwan, and import tariffs are being planned for these products.
In short, Intel is likely to receive a hefty amount of government funding, and Amazon, Microsoft, and others will soon be knocking at the door to buy components for their data centers.
