Potential Listings in Helsinki

The one who wanted to be on the main list has probably already been found. Copied from the coffee room:

Regarding Bioretec’s listing published yesterday: If someone hasn’t noticed, it already had its own thread: Bioretec - Aukeaako jenkkimarkkina? - Osakkeet - Inderes forum

There’s a lot of talk here about peak cycles and red-hot markets, based on how many companies have listed in the past year. The Yle graph a bit above, I think, illustrated the point well.

A correlation to stock market performance can be seen from that, but what’s clearly more important is to understand the causality between these two events. Helsinki Stock Exchange listings have never predicted future stock market performance during the review period; they have only reacted to it. Most listings occurred in 1999, before the dot-com bubble burst, and also significantly in 2018, before a mild bear market began. In both cases, it should be noted that company listings only start to decline when the gentle market tailwind has turned into a headwind, not before. The IPO boom is clearly a result of strong market performance, not the other way around, which would allow us to draw correlations between the number of company listings and the market’s future development. As a conclusion, this isn’t particularly surprising; it’s almost self-evident that companies prefer to list during a bull market rather than a bear market. It’s also equally clear which market we’ve been in for the past year.

My two cents are that I can’t be worried about the number of new listings, because they are supposed to increase in a bull market. When you add to this the fact that the last year has been one of the best bull markets in history, and the longer-term trends, where hopefully Finland is finally moving with globalization away from the old bank-driven financing system towards a stock market-driven market economy, this supports it. Nor will stock market development stop because many new companies enter the market to seek funding; the situation will go the other way. Listings will drop sharply after the markets head downhill. Or before that. Or during that. No one knows. The point is that the number of listings cannot predict the market temperature or the cycle phase, because the causality between the two works the other way around.

Not in detail, but when I looked at the prospectus, I noted the following. The business is quite difficult to understand in the sense of how to make its extensive customer network generate added value in the long term? After all, it’s about subscriptions. Secondly, if the goal is international growth, one would think that the material would be available at least in English. Thirdly, the decision to skip it was reinforced by the fact that the bottom lines show a loss.

YET ANOTHER new listing will be announced on Monday, this time on the main list.

A new company is planning to list on the Helsinki Stock Exchange’s main list. The company’s name is not yet known and will be revealed on Monday morning.

Thanks. I was thinking something similar myself :+1::+1::+1:

It’s great that new companies are flowing into the stock market. Unfortunately, the size of new entrants is small. I would hope for more already grown companies. Listing Lilliputs (small companies) first brings to mind owners cashing in, incompetence in raising capital, and owners’ lack of ambition to grow the company. I hope I’m wrong about these.

I hope this is finally Fazer, which has been hinting at an IPO, if I recall correctly, at least in Q1. This could be a very viable option because they are strongly investing in oats, and for example, Oatly’s IPO on the NYSE was quite a success, so now if ever, this would certainly be worthwhile.

Well, it will be revealed on Monday, but it would be wonderful to own a great Finnish brand.

PUUILO OY: Puuilo Plans Initial Public Offering and Listing on Nasdaq Helsinki’s Main Market

The aim of the IPO is to enable Puuilo’s strong growth to continue, improve Puuilo’s financial flexibility, and strengthen Puuilo’s recognition and brand awareness among its customers, employees, and investors. These goals aim to enhance Puuilo’s competitiveness and provide it with access to capital markets, as well as to broaden its ownership base with both domestic and international investors, which is expected to increase the liquidity of the Company’s shares. The listing of shares and increased liquidity are also expected to allow Puuilo to better utilize its shares in remuneration.

The planned IPO is expected to consist of a share issue by the Company of approximately EUR 30 million (gross proceeds) and a share sale in which certain Puuilo shareholders will sell their shares. The proceeds from the share issue are intended to be used to strengthen the Company’s capital structure, including by repaying Puuilo’s existing bank loans.

Certain funds managed by Capital World Investors, selected funds managed by Evli Fund Management Company Ltd, funds managed by DNCA Finance, certain funds managed by Sp-Fund Management Company Ltd, certain funds managed by Svenska Handelsbanken AB, Conficap Oy, and certain funds managed through an endowment insurance arrangement by Creades AB (publ.) (together, the “Anchor Investors”) have, subject to certain conditions, committed to subscribe for the Company’s shares for a total of approximately EUR 96 million in the planned IPO, assuming that the valuation of the Company’s entire share capital after the IPO does not exceed EUR 560 million.

So the share sale is many times larger than the issue itself? (It’s unlikely that the anchor investors have already subscribed for the issue multiple times over in advance).

Nevertheless, an interesting addition to the Helsinki listings.

Seems like a pretty interesting IPO, though we’ll see how the price develops. Reminds me of Tokmanni.

I opened a new thread for Puuilo (you can edit the title if you want): Puuilo - Halpakauppakentän uusin peluri - Osakkeet - Inderes forum

A little off-topic, but I thought it might fit this thread.

We have been researching initial public offerings (IPOs) on the Helsinki Stock Exchange’s main list since 2012. Our popular IPO study is now even more comprehensive and updated with recent listings, and it will be unveiled in a webinar held on Tuesday, June 8th, at 5 PM.

By the way, is there a website somewhere where you can clearly see ongoing IPOs, their potential closing dates, etc.?

Now that these are popping up like mushrooms after rain, I have to fish for each one separately to find out when it started and ended. When’s the next one?..

Nordnet, Katso käynnissä olevat listautumisannit (IPO) | Nordnet

Thanks @sillinkutoja, that list also seems to only include those that can be participated in through Nordnet. At least Toivo was missing from the list.

However, its offering ended an hour ago when it was oversubscribed.

Such a comprehensive list of IPOs would be useful.

For example, IPOHub only shows some of the First North offerings => Currently, a search shows Solwers’ offering information but not, for example, Toivo Group’s offering.
ipohub.io way to quickly see ongoing IPOs could be the Financial Supervisory Authority’s (Finanssivalvonta) prospectus register:

From there, you can quickly see approved IPO prospectuses, which in practice also shows ongoing offerings.
=> from the search settings, select “Osakkeet” (Shares) and click “Hae” (Search).

This also doesn’t directly show the start and end dates of the offering. The page also updates with a slight delay, as the Bioretec prospectus approved on 4.6.2021 is not yet in the list. :man_shrugging:

Well, it’s been a while (4 days) since the last newcomer announced to the stock exchange, so here’s the next one. Though this one isn’t coming anytime soon:

Another new listing is buzzing in the stock exchange’s vestibule – A rapidly growing digital company aims to double its revenue: “We are doing well”

Edit: this was behind a paywall.

Efima is known for its enterprise resource planning (ERP) and financial management software. Its growth has been strong in recent years, but there is room for improvement in profitability.

“Efima is accelerating its growth strategy further and is considering listing on the Nasdaq Helsinki First North Growth Market,” states the company’s CEO, Tero Salminen.

“We are moving into a new phase of growth, which our listing would support in many ways. Listing is a relevant path for us, and listing readiness can be achieved in about six months.”

Efima, which is seeking growth, recruited almost a hundred new software and financial management professionals in Finland and the USA during the past financial year, and now has approximately 280 employees.

Growth investments have come at a price. The profit has been used for growth, so the operating profit was at zero level even in the recently concluded financial year.

“However, the operating profit for the previous financial year was half a million euros in the red because we invested significantly in growth in the United States. Efima’s core business of its own software development is well profitable,” Salminen outlines.

Salminen notes that for the past two years, the company has invested significantly in opening up the US market. The core business generates an operating profit of about 10 percent.

I’m participating in this offering. There’s still a long way to go and a lot of development, but it’s a promising company. If they can open up the market, it could be a good investment. How will this “drill bit company” (poranporausyritys) BBS react to this? They’re somewhat in the same waters.

It might be quite difficult to achieve success like Tokmannin (Tokmanni) here. There are already enough of these “discount store chains,” and I doubt there are enough DIY-ers in Finland when assembling even IKEA furniture is a struggle for some?

Bioretec is also included. Do they predict that the ongoing offering will fail? :winking_face_with_tongue:

The list looks nice. I’m already drooling, though it always depends on the pricing of each offering. It’s a pleasure to see new companies coming to the list! :+1:
