@Jarnis and company - Could we continue that most hectic situation update here, so the ‘Pörssien suunta’ thread remains a bit calmer, as has been hoped.
I want updates at night too, arrange the shifts ![]()
That was a manly bounce in the US while I was away from my computer for a bit. The busy folks have had time to open new shorts, and those who still had shares were able to sell them at a better price, and now we can continue downhill.
Downturns often include a few days of upward movement. However, we’re currently above a support level, and breaking it could take several trading sessions, or it might not be broken at all. Time will tell.
Great! Just the right thread for a stock market armchair athlete; when you’re out of money, you can participate from the stands ![]()
I cautiously peeked into my portfolio, and a couple of funds had even made a little profit today. Is it possible that active fund managers are making good moves now and earning their salaries?
Fund quotes are lagging. Yesterday was a relatively good day for Hex, and tomorrow might be too, as an intraday reversal is underway in the US. The deepest trough of the correction might have been seen, but we will only know that over time.
I sold all my shares at the turn of the year and am now 100% in cash. It’s a joy to watch this collapse, but there’s no rush to start buying yet. Let it slide…
SPX didn’t go below 3000 pts. Did the FED come to the rescue?
I sold all my shares on Monday. ![]()
Collapse canceled. U.S. housing starts better than expected. I myself have added today and yesterday.
Hardly just a trend - technical analysis. A trend line drawn from bottom to bottom, clear and strong support.
I guess those bottoms will be tested again once there’s a bit more news flow about the virus. But hey, for the first time, a bottom started to emerge for this slide chain.
Agreed. And I personally think that when/if these trend levels break, there will be roughly another equivalent amount of decline. Now I expect there to be sideways movement for a while. And I’d be surprised if Europe doesn’t rise tomorrow.
It depends entirely on what happens in the US; there’s still a day left. If the US decides to hit near rock bottom again, it’s not certain.
Well, if that’s the case, I’m thinking that the bounce would largely last through today… but we’ll see.
Stock market crash situation room, oh for heaven’s sake
When ups, downs, and crashes are normal stock market movements, shouldn’t this rather be a “business as usual” situation room?
I guess the point of speculating here is whether it will turn into a collapse.
