These don’t cost much of anything when you consider the production costs. I run a medical clinic myself, and the cost breakdown is as follows:
- Procedure set (sterile disposable instruments): €12-20
- Anesthetic: a lidocaine ampoule is around €4, lidocaine-adrenaline €8-10
- Sutures: €5-15
On top of that, you add labor costs (20 min?) and “office overhead.”
The way these large medical corporations operate is honestly quite ridiculous. Hopefully, more small clinics will emerge so we can get prices to a reasonable level for all customers and bring insurance premiums down. Your average Joe thinks that a company like Terveystalo operates very cost-effectively and benefits from “economies of scale,” but that is complete nonsense
