As I see all transatlantic development and market predictability gradually crumbling in an orange fashion (=Project 2025), and so-called ‘polarity’ transforming into a new form, somehow just like this, at this moment…
Virta only got better as he matured:
I once had the honor of working with two entertainment industry veterans, Timppa Lindström and Petteri von Bagh, on a 24-CD box set like that, along with a 2-CD basic version of the project:
Every now and then I’ve wondered if the book in that box was von Bagh’s last work, but I haven’t bothered to verify it…
It’s been 13 years since then, and I have to admit, I still haven’t had the time to listen through that Virta box set. Another massive project that landed on my worklist was a 14-CD Irwin box set, which was put together with Timppa and Vexi Salmi. That one, I suppose, I’ve remembered to wade through at least once a year:
Damn, all the legends — whether famous or the figures behind the scenes — already have to be spoken of in the past tense.
Going into “storytime” mode again…
Rosanna & Zelia:
Small world. That duo once made their debut recording for the small Finnish label Maumau. Most of their recordings were produced for the German label Peregrina Music, whose best-known names are probably Mikis Theodorakis and Maria Farantouri.
Back in the early 2000s, I was writing record reviews for a small magazine and asked Peregrina for promo records. I did get a reply, but the cover letter expressed regret that they didn’t have distribution in Finland. I thought something had to be done, so I suggested a collaboration. Following a positive response, I ended up distributing a few hundred of the label’s records, mainly to libraries. When divided by the number of titles, it’s not much, but at least we got these tracks over here to Finland. Even just a bit.
An extremely fine record label, which also released the Finnish group Uusikuu. In that world music genre, it seems the internet just killed the business, and the label vanished from the map. Success isn’t always down to competence.
As stated, pretty much waiting for the next orange-tinted market disruption…

“There’s another beautiful armada floating beautifully towards Iran right now,” Trump added, sharing that he hopes Iran will “make a deal” and “should have made a deal the first time.”
-
“The next attack will be far worse! Don’t make that happen again,” Trump wrote…
The best of Africa from 1969-1975:
A great record series. I’ve bought almost all of them on vinyl for my shelf.
Brilliant…
- These collections are true all-time psychedelic rock finds, thanks for the post, you’re to be congratulated…

In the meantime, especially while waiting for Nokia’s financial results, we probably need some orange-tinted “elevator music” (=in one direction or another), listened to for hours on end…
When the portfolio simply won’t go up, looking for a boost from Megadeth’s newest and latest album.
Now that the “Yankee” is trying to sputter and struggle again, how about this:
…I really miss those ole southern rock bands…
It will likely be red in the States for quite a long time, before the next orange-hued reverse Midas appointments…
…for some reason…
Speaking of the buzz, this so-called “green-toned” song somehow strangely fits ShortPölhex’s recent earnings-report-spectacle-price-moves (=Nokia, Fortum etc…)..?
And on the side, regarding today’s “extraordinariness”, like this:
…while staring at forest industry share prices, especially…
(=while waiting for tomorrow’s decision from Neste)
With the US markets rallying once again, for those other than the Dow Jones crowd…
…need to say more…
So come out tonight
I’ll take you for a ride
This steamy old wagon
The radio is getting wild
Baby babe, we’re moving so fast
I try to hang on
Oh, I try to hang on
Yeah
Foorumin luoma käännös ![]()
An apt tune for days like these, when the music has stopped for US tech ![]()
To America, to America, Finnish men left with excitement
To America, to America, in droves to dig for gold
To America, to America, many didn’t stay to earn dollars
Even grandpa returned in due time with only memories in his pockets
At the end of a gloomy stock market day, a bit of the Messiah, short and sweet. I attended Dylan’s latest Helsinki gig to pay my respects to the great unknown, and as a warm-up, I had watched a perfectly decent Dylan film during the day: A Complete Unknown. Although the concert wasn’t anything special, apart from a few gems (as the arrangements were so peculiar), I felt it was practically my duty to conclude my long concert career with Bob Dylan, after an 11-year hiatus from attending any concerts. I was also there for Dylan’s first Finnish gig (if I’ve understood correctly) on September 23, 1987, where Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers played as both the backing band and opening act… sorry again for my long introduction to tonight’s musical moment:
Mark Scibian has succeeded in writing lyrics that describe the way things are today. People strive at any cost to get their names into history, often without shying away from any means. Could the true heroes of life, however, be those who stay in the background and don’t make a big deal of themselves?
Indeed, at this point, a certain so-called “old-school game music beat” would also be fitting…
- The memories…Even when you’re winning, the stressful music kept you on your toes…
