Rauli has written a new company report on Marimekko

We lowered Marimekko’s forecasts by approximately 5% due to a weakening outlook for consumer demand. We are reducing our target price to 11.5 euros (previously 12.5e), but reiterate our ‘add’ recommendation. In our opinion, the company’s strong cash flow, enabling dividends, and earnings growth prospects continue to offer a good return expectation.

Finnish consumers are once again in a tight spot: inflation is rearing its head, rising interest rates are hitting mortgage holders, and assets are shrinking as stock and housing values melt away. At the same time, unemployment in Finland is among the highest in Europe.

Regardless of the economic situation, everyone has to eat and live somewhere. But what happens to discretionary spending? For example, Marimekko products are not on the cheaper end. So, it’s possible that if the consumer crunch prolongs, it will also affect demand for Marimekko.

Today, Rauli and I filmed a video on this topic.

Thanks, I’ve been thinking the same thing, as I’d still like to add more of the stock! I also belong to the target group and went shopping on Thursday, but it was very quiet.

Looks like Marimekko’s annual general meeting might have to be held again due to a procedural error. A friend of mine just tried to get into the meeting at Finlandia Hall slightly late. The Finlandia Hall staff prevented entry on the grounds that a Marimekko representative had come by 15 minutes after the start time to say that no one else should be let in.

Quite the “people’s stock,” this one. Small shareholders are being mistreated in violation of the Companies Act.

AI says: “The Companies Act does not allow a shareholder to be excluded from a meeting based on being late. A shareholder always has the right to participate in a general meeting, and this right remains valid throughout the entire meeting.”

Here are the key points regarding late arrivals:

  • Access to the meeting: A shareholder must be admitted even if the meeting has already started. Being late does not negate the statutory right to participate.
  • Right to speak and vote: A late shareholder can exercise their right to speak and vote on matters that are still under consideration or have not yet begun.
  • Past decisions: A shareholder cannot demand a re-examination of matters already decided simply because they were late for them. They have no voting rights on matters that were finalized before their arrival.
  • Voting list: The chairperson must update the voting list upon the arrival of a late shareholder to ensure that vote counts are correct in future votes.

Collaboration collection for Marimekko: Marimekko ja CASETiFY julkistavat iloisen yhteistyömalliston - Inderes

Marimekko and the global tech accessory and lifestyle brand CASETiFY are announcing a limited-edition collaboration collection, set to launch on May 18, 2026. The collaboration brings Marimekko’s world-renowned pattern art to a wide range of CASETiFY’s tech accessories. The collection includes products ranging from phone cases and tablet covers to smartwatch bands and cardholders.

The joyful and colorful collection features four Marimekko prints: two newer floral patterns from 2024, Kukasta kukkaan and Lemmitty designed by Erja Hirvi, Maija Isola’s iconic Unikko (poppy) pattern from 1964, and the classic Marimekko logo. The collection highlights Marimekko’s long-standing interest in floral prints—an exploration that began back in the 1960s, through which flowers have become one of Marimekko’s most signature pattern motifs.

“We are excited to present our collaboration with CASETiFY, which brings pattern art into everyday life in an inspiring way. The products in this collection, radiating optimism and color, are perfect for both holiday adventures and the hustle and bustle of daily life. It is great to collaborate with CASETiFY, as they brilliantly combine functionality and self-expression in their products. Both CASETiFY and Marimekko have dedicated fan bases around the world, and we look forward to seeing how our customers receive the collection,” says Sanna-Kaisa Niikko, Chief Marketing Officer at Marimekko.

“At CASETiFY, we have always seen our tech accessories as a form of self-expression. Partnering with an iconic and joy-creating design house like Marimekko is a natural extension of this mission. By bringing their renowned pattern art to our most loved products, we are giving our global community the opportunity to carry joyful and functional art with them every single day,” says Kei Chan, Marketing Director at CASETiFY.

The full collection will be available globally on CASETiFY’s online store starting May 18, 2026.

Alright, the long-awaited show is approaching, will we see @Rauli_Juva there reporting  : Marimekko-päivää vietetään 22.5. Esplanadin puistossa – ulkoilmanäytösten artistina Ruusut | Kauppalehti

Marimekko celebrates the beginning of summer by holding the traditional Marimekko Day with fashion shows in Esplanadi Park and in stores across Finland. The Marimekko Day show was first organized back in 1992.

On Marimekko Day, May 22nd, joyful patterns will fill Esplanadi as Marimekko invites its community to enjoy summer, friends, and colorful summer fashion. As usual, the outdoor fashion show is open to everyone, with music provided by the electronic pop icon Ruusut. The event will be hosted by Marimekko’s CEO Tiina Alahuhta-Kasko and journalist Maria Veitola.

“Marimekko’s mission from the very beginning has been to bring joy to people’s everyday lives through bold patterns and colors, and even now in our 75th anniversary year, this mission feels very meaningful. Marimekko Day is an important tradition for us, through which we can bring a positive spirit to the start of summer via inspiring fashion, a warm atmosphere, and wonderful performers. We hope that as many friends of Marimekko as possible can join us in celebrating patterns of joy at Esplanadi Park,” says Marimekko’s Chief Marketing Officer Sanna-Kaisa Niikko.

The runway will showcase Marimekko’s Summer 2026 collection, which is a vibrant ensemble featuring playful proportions, striking prints, and bold use of color. The collection combines Marimekko’s new and familiar floral prints with dynamic stripes, presenting Marimekko’s signature silhouettes in an entirely new way. Among the new floral prints featured in the collection are, for example, Kukasta kukkaan and Lemmitty, designed by Erja Hirvi in 2024.

Marimekko summer shows in Esplanadi Park on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 12:00, 13:30, 16:00, and 18:00.

Here are Rauli’s pre-match thoughts, as Marimekko (Mekko) reports its results on Wednesday, May 13th.

Marimekko already commented in the Q4 report that it expects Q1 revenue development to remain subdued in its main markets of Finland and Asia. However, we expect the company’s revenue to have grown slightly, driven by international sales, but for the result to fall below the comparison period. We believe the company will reiterate its full-year guidance.
