Vote: Kempower’s Revenue 2026

The year is drawing to a close, so it’s time to turn our eyes toward the future. Let’s set up a poll on the range in which Kempower’s 2026 revenue will fall.

My expectations are high. I believe 2026 will be the real breakthrough year for satellite charging systems. Growth is driven particularly by ports and the electrification of heavy-duty transport. Furthermore, there is a desperate need for charging infrastructure as a wave of new, more affordable electric cars hits the market (e.g., Renault Twingo E-Tech, Ć koda Epiq, Nissan Micra, and the VW ID.2 series). On top of that, as the cherry on top, there is the CMD (Capital Markets Day) where Next Gen charging technology will likely be revealed, which one could imagine reaching sales as early as Q4.

My own forecast is that Kempower will return to an explosive growth path in 2026. (Over 45% / over €365M)

Background info on the figures:

2025: Consensus estimate is €256.1M (Company’s own guidance: €246–257M).

2026: Analysts’ consensus estimate is strong: €365.2M.

What do you think?

  • Contracts (-5%
 0%) €239–€252M
  • Grows 1% – 15% €254M – €289M
  • Grows 16% – 30% €292M – €327M
  • Grows 31% – 45% €330M – €365M
  • Grows over 45% Over €365M

Since you brought these up, I’ll comment on their expected sales. The ID. Polo (formerly the ID.2) will likely sell well, but deliveries won’t start until September/November 2026, so there will be no significant impact on next year. The Epiq production model is only scheduled to be unveiled next summer, so its deliveries will also be pushed to at least the second half of next year. The Micra is unlikely to sell much, as it is essentially a copy of the Renault 5 at the same price points, without any particular competitive advantages over its rival. The Twingo may sell quite well, but at least for the Nordic version, we’ll have to wait until “the very end of next year” for its market launch.

I can’t help but share this here as well.

Last week, Windrose founder and CEO Wen Han shared his experiences with Kempower chargers and was full of praise.

Now there is a more official post out regarding the collaboration between Windrose and Kempower.

(Windrose is this “Tesla Semi copy,” whose product seems to be much further along and ready for the market, unlike Tesla’s. Tough competition for the traditional Scania/Volvo/MB trio. The Chinese are coming strong into the HDV (Heavy Duty Vehicle) segment as well.)

“This achievement underscores the close collaboration between Windrose and Kempower and demonstrates the readiness of Windrose electric trucks to integrate with high-power, interoperable, and intelligent charging solutions for heavy-duty applications on a global scale.

Windrose will continue to the next phase of testing and further deepen its collaboration with Kempower as part of the company’s global expansion strategy.”

As a follow-up, here is a CEO update from yesterday. They are opening truck routes in the United States with charging partners. Now, fingers crossed that this opens the MCS (Megawatt Charging System) market for Kempower on the other side of the pond as well.

Edit. 2.1.2026

It looks like this could be updated daily. Those interested should follow Wen and Windrose on LinkedIn. I’ll just add that a dedicated network is coming to the Nordics, and 5 MCS charging points have already been planned for the Swedish side using Kempower equipment (Milence & Circle K).

Will we finally see Kempowers at other Milence sites too? The collaboration was announced years ago, but they still seem to be 100% HYC400 chargers?

This is not directly related to Kempower, but rather to the electrification of transport in general:

The EU is planning to introduce a 6,000 euro scrapping premium for cars over 10 years old whose owners have an annual income of no more than 25,000 euros. Scrapping premiums are set to start being paid in 2027, and the campaign is intended to last for 5 years. The purpose is for the premium to be used for the purchase of either a new or used zero-emission vehicle.

This will likely help accelerate the growth in the number of electric cars in the EU. Such support has hardly been factored into previous estimates regarding the number of electric cars. From this, one can perhaps conclude that the demand for charging points will also grow faster than previously estimated.

Katri Piirtola has been appointed Chief Services and Aftermarket Officer and a member of the Global Leadership Team at Kempower.

Tausta: Piirtola joins Kempower from KONE, where she most recently served as Senior Vice President for the European modernization business. She has over 20 years of experience in international technology companies (e.g., KONE and Ahlstrom).

Great catch! :orange_heart:

Let’s share Donut Labs’ potential battery innovation here as well, because if it holds true, “the rug will be pulled out from under internal combustion engine motoring.” The matter was presented very convincingly in connection with the CES trade show—though more information is still being awaited, and apparently it has emerged today that at least Nordic Nano’s property in Imatra is not the battery manufacturing site.

I wonder what impact the Mercosur trade agreement would have on Kempower’s near future if it materializes? Could @Pauli_Lohi ask about this in connection with Q4? It feels like questions from regular folks don’t get through during earnings calls anymore

China obviously already has a foothold, but the removal of tariffs would level the playing field nicely.

“With the agreement, the Mercosur countries would commit to lowering almost all their tariffs to zero. This is estimated to facilitate the export of European industrial products in particular.”

Brazil would have 200 million inhabitants and 100 million cars waiting for electrification.

  • Passenger cars: The market is growing explosively. In 2024, sales of electric cars doubled, and the Chinese company BYD is building factories in the country. The charging network is expanding rapidly in major cities.
  • Heavy transport: The country is one of the world’s largest bus markets. Cities like Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro have committed to replacing thousands of diesel buses with electric ones. Mining companies (such as Vale) are also aggressively electrifying their heavy machinery and trucks.
Gemini summary on the topic

The trade agreement between the EU and Mercosur countries is a strategically important “door-opener” for Kempower, as it removes high tariff barriers from the South American market. This improves the price competitiveness of Kempower’s chargers relative to the strong Chinese players in the region and makes exports more economically viable. The impact is not immediate; instead, the agreement lays the foundation for future growth towards the end of the decade.

The most concrete benefit comes from the electrification of heavy transport and industry. South America is a strong market for European commercial vehicles (such as Volvo and Scania) as well as port operations. (Kalmar&Kempower) With the trade agreement, it will be easier for Kempower to expand into the region in the wake of these long-term partners and offer charging infrastructure as part of the export of electric trucks and machinery.

InspireNOLA Charter Schools has deployed the largest electric school bus fleet in the state of Louisiana.

  • :bus: Fleet: 42 all-electric school buses (IC Bus, which also features V2G. Does this work with Kempower chargers?).
  • :electric_plug: Charging infrastructure: 7 Kempower C800 power units have been installed at the depot, feeding a total of 52 DC charging points.
  • Operator: Highland Electric Fleets (a significant partner in the US market).

52 charging points for a single site is a substantial delivery, and school buses are a massive market in the USA, which is now electrifying rapidly driven by NEVI and EPA (Clean School Bus Program) subsidies. Furthermore, new customers are finally being gained outside of California and the East Coast, from the American Deep South.

While waiting for more information about the Donut’s (Kempower’s) battery, we can take a moment for some celebratory “torikahvit” (market square coffee) thanks to this. :hot_beverage:

The Mercosur agreement naturally strengthens the potential competitiveness of Kempower and other European companies in South America. Many Chinese automakers, among others, operate in South America, and it’s likely that Asian competition will also be encountered in the charging sector. Therefore, I consider it likely that price competition in the region will be intense, even though the new trade agreement in principle strengthens the position of European manufacturers.

So far, the South American market has been the responsibility of Kempower’s US office. However, this does not rule out deliveries from Europe, as has been the case at least partially with Canada.

However, I do not expect the agreement to have significant short-term effects on Kempower’s order development. Kempower’s operations in South America have been non-existent, and it is uncertain whether the company will seriously start competing for this market—and if so, when. It should also be noted that the electrification of transport in South America is clearly lagging behind Western markets and Asia, meaning the market is currently small.

I’m asking because I don’t know, and there are some brilliant people on this forum: Would Kempower have opportunities to expand into the power supply side of data centers? Apparently, large DC power supplies are used for certain applications there.

Here are Pauli’s comments on how Kempower is renewing its global management team and organizational structure.

Kempower announced on Tuesday that it is renewing the company’s global management team and organizational structure with the aim of accelerating growth and innovation. The change is part of the implementation of the company’s new strategy, which the company will present under the leadership of its relatively new CEO Bhasker Kaushal at the CMD in Q2 2026. The changes will strengthen selected strategic areas such as technology development, software, and service business. This is more about evolution than revolution, as the changes are built around the existing core of the management team. We see the reorganization as a logical step for a rapidly developing and internationalizing company.

Syed Haseeb Hassan has once again compiled data from the largest charger manufacturers outside of Tesla, and it looks interesting.

The quartet shrank to a trio because Ekoenergetyka is no longer sharing its data. Previously, it was about 1/9 of Kempower’s figures.

Alpitronic and Kempower are growing significantly faster than ABB.

More massive bus depots are on the way. Likely with Kempower chargers. Several members of Kempower’s Norwegian sales team have liked the post, and Tide has used Kempower chargers in almost all recent major projects, e.g., the giant Aalborg depot in Denmark and the Tromsþ and Hammerfest sites in Norway.

- 235 electric buses will be put into operation for Vestfold County Municipality.
- 240+ charging points are installed to ensure seamless operation and maximum uptime.

Completion in summer 2026

Now that sounds like real business. If one unit is, say, €13,000, then including maintenance contracts, we’re probably talking about a deal worth close to a mil in a sales case like this.
