The folks from Inderes, @Santeri_Korpinen and an analyst from Sifter, join us in the podcast booth! The topic could be, for example, the semiconductor industry. Thanks

Thanks @JNivala, we can try to arrange something like this before summer.

I’m making an episode for inderesPodi, where the guest is @Erkki_Vesola – Inderes’ former veteran analyst. Eki has a truly impressive and long career in analysis work behind him, and now is a great opportunity to ask him anything that comes to mind :hugs:

What would you like to hear from Eki? Are there any specific topics you’d like us to cover in the podcast?

You can throw in questions and ideas about, for example, stock analysis, an analyst’s career path, Eki’s own journey, or how life has been after Inderes. We’ll include these in the episode :studio_microphone:

Great! All discussion about machine shops is interesting. I would be particularly interested in Erkki’s own investments, if he is willing to share them.

One could also ask Eki the following:

  • As an analyst, he was constantly on the pulse of the market, but now apparently observes the situation more from the sidelines (?). Does this affect his view on investing and strategy?
  • What’s it like to FIRE? Pros and cons

Ask who are the best CEOs / leaders in Eki’s career? You never know, you might find some people who haven’t been in the spotlight much :man_shrugging:

And additionally, you could ask who has influenced Eki’s long career the most? Perhaps these have been discussed before, but I don’t recall, and I’m interested if there are interesting figures from history.

And finally, you could ask what makes Eki get out of bed these days :joy:

One could ask Eki how he would invest if he were to start over now with a small capital, but with a long investment horizon of decades. However, you would have the experience, knowledge, and skills gained from your long career. Would you enthusiastically pursue excess returns through stock picking, or would you settle for the market returns of indices?

If you could only pick stocks from one industry for the next 100 years, what would it be?
How would you evaluate a company if you had no numerical data available at all?

  1. Do people still stop Eki on the street when he moves around town like any of us, asking about the machine shop sector🙂!?

  2. Does Eki follow the 100% minus age principle in his investments!?

I also included a link to Eki’s interview from 2023, if it helps those coming up with questions and/or the interviewer.

Stylish gentleman. Hopefully, I’ll
gain experience in the same way as Eki. My wife would hope so too. In reality

We’ll do our best! There’s currently some issue on Spotify’s end, meaning the upload succeeds and appears as published on the Spotify Creators page, but for some reason, it doesn’t want to become public on Spotify. :face_with_crossed_out_eyes:

After a few struggles, the episode is now available on Spotify as well for you to enjoy.
