There’s a lot of information circulating in the world, some of which is always false. Some false information comes unintentionally, due to carelessness, or simply copied as is. Especially in stock market discussions, people express wishes like “ATH today!” etc., which are easily recognized as hopeful throws.
The situation is worse if false information is spread intentionally and with questionable goals in seemingly reliable media. In some cases (if not often), this affects stock prices.

For example, this morning, information was presented on TV that a barn had exploded somewhere due to methane emitted by cows. The statements referred to cows’ “rear-end breathing,” although the rear end doesn’t produce that much methane. An expert was present in the discussion who cleverly refuted the claim but did not point out that it was an urban legend. Whose job is it to correct purely domestic fake news? Or should we politely stay silent and leave the responsibility to the listeners? I would like to see the issue addressed more strongly in Finland too, so that public statements would be considered more carefully.
