Beginner investor: how did you start investing and where to get started?

Hi @Nuori-Rauno and welcome to the forum!

Here in the beginner investor thread, people typically ask so-called “stupid questions” (there are no such things, but rather beginner-level questions). This post might have been better suited for another thread: Mitä sinulla on salkussa? - Sijoittaminen - Inderes forum

You have allocated capital quite well around the world. It’s worth making sure that the global and American funds don’t overlap (or at least that you do so knowingly). Typically, the American share of a global fund is significant, which means you might unintentionally allocate money elsewhere than intended. Without commenting further on OP’s funds as a whole, it’s worth comparing them to each other – for example, management and other ongoing costs (usually reported annually) – and then consciously deciding which fund you want to invest in. For instance, Handelsbanken’s USA index fund has annual costs of about 0.2%, while OP America Index seemed to be 0.39%. This is almost a 100% difference on an annual basis.

Morningstar’s website has a wealth of information on stocks, funds, and ETFs. There’s also a comparison tool available.

You seem to have a good start, and it’s great that you’ve realized this is a long-term endeavor!
